Tim’s Tours has been providing chartered transportation for both large and small groups since 2010. Lifelong resident Tim Lewis had a dream of offering tours and day trips to people visiting and residing the Michiana area. He started Tim’s Tours with one single bus in 2010. The Michiana area serves as host to many groups that arrive for conventions, conferences and athletic events and if there is a need to show these visitors the area or just shuttle them from one spot to another, Tim was glad to oblige!
“I have really enjoyed working with our community leaders at the Chamber of Commerce and the Visit South Bend/Mishawaka bureau and want to continue that relationship because as a lifelong resident I have had the pleasure of seeing this community rebound from a near total collapse when the Studebaker Corporation went out of business. As a kid, growing up in the shadow of the golden dome was just great, and it was on account of the strength of the University of Notre Dame along with some very savvy community leaders that the area has survived and now is home to a multitude of new, small businesses. As our community leaders continue to attract new companies to the area, I’ll still be available to show new folks around and give them just a little bit of the wonderful history we have here and enable them to see some really interesting places. This has been my favorite part of Tim’s Tours!” -Tim Lewis
With a strong fortitude and an attitude to do the right thing, Tim’s Tours was able to add a second bus to our fleet in 2013, and then a third in 2015, and a fourth in 2016. Having frequented many of the Michigan wineries and regional micro breweries and providing wedding or party transportation services, Tim’s Tours continues to provide the best personalized service in the area!
Tim retired in 2017, but his inspiration and dream still lives on. There are thousands of great places to enjoy near South Bend! Day trips to the Chicagoland area for shopping, Grand Rapids and Holland for festivals and concert events, Indianapolis for athletics and the zoo, or even a race plus numerous other places for youth group outings; all can be a day trip out and back with no worries about driving safely there and back!
