Don’t miss the amazing Butterflies are Blooming event!

Enjoy both indoor and outdoor botanic gardens and beautifully crafted sculptures at this wonderfully designed and beautiful 132 acre park where you will enjoy the sights and smells and sounds of Springtime in a barrier free natural setting.

Best of all though is the amazing Butterflies are Blooming annual event where all of your questions about the life cycle of a butterfly are answered right before your eyes. Both domestic and tropical butterflies will be on display in the Seasonal Greenhouse and the Tropical Conservatory where you will see the four stages of metamorphosis from eggs, to caterpillars, to pupae then finally to the wonderfully beautiful emerged butterfly.

There will be over 40 species and 6,000 butterflies in this amazing indoor conservatory exhibit!

Not only will the Butterfly exhibit be terrific, you’ll be able to view the sculptures of world renowned artists DiSuevero, Rodin, Moore and Oldenburg as the sculpture park is now considered one of the top collections in the country.

You will have an opportunity to wander the park at your leisure, enjoying the winding walkways and boardwalks through the various gardens, perhaps sitting for a spell on one of the many benches found throughout the park, just gazing at the amazing colors and sculptures. Visit the Victoria Garden, spend some time in the Woodland Shade garden where bronze sculptures mingle with the trees, and make sure to check out the barn at the Michigan Farm Gardens where the animal sculptures are so cute. And for the kid in all of us there is the Children’s Garden.

The group will also take a 45 minute tram tour of the gardens as part of our entry package, plus there is a beautiful Meijer Gardens Gift Shop for those special purchases for special people!

Visit the Meijer Gardens website to really get a good idea of all that awaits you!

The excursion will begin at the Indiana toll road’s Granger exit parking lot just off Capital and US 23 at 11:00 AM, arriving at the park just after 1:00 PM. Pack a lunch to eat on the bus or plan a trip into the Garden Cafe on site. Your afternoon in the park will be spent both indoors and out until closing time at 5:00 PM, allowing plenty of time to see all of the gardens and exhibits. We will then depart Grand Rapids and stop in Kalamazoo for dinner at the Old Country Buffet then head back home to Indiana, arriving about 8:00 PM.

What a day! Your transportation, entry to the park and dinner all included for just $50.00 per person! Push the Contact button to reserve your seat on Tim’s Tours.
